This book was recommended by a friend. I decided to listen to it on audible first. Once I finished, I knew there was too much good info I needed to go back to so I bought the book too. I also want my children to read it so they can start incorporating changes now.I thought the idea of it is great - share the top medical, preventative and anti-aging info from medical professionals with the everyday person. I learned a lot. I've already started incorporating many of the tools and tips they recommend.I have recommended this to quite a few people because it covers specific issues (diabetes and others) and general health topics. Some topics I had a little knowledge of but I learned much more in-depth and helpful info from this book.I was disappointed in the Alzheimer's section, an area I am very familiar with, because Dr. Bredesen's work wasn't even mentioned. Dr. Bredesen is a pioneer in the field and has worked with people diagnosed with Alzheimer's that were already slipping far into dementia until they followed his protocol. The functional medicine docs at The Cleveland Clinic are all familiar with his work. He has three books out and his most recent is the personal stories of those first people to successfully come out of dementia. I am curious as to why this critical information wouldn't have been mentioned in this book.Otherwise, I thought the book was excellent and very helpful.
