My 17 month old toddler granddaughter simply adores this book and its siblings. She has three of them and they are her favorites. She sits in her parents' laps (or mine), turns the pages and opens the flaps. She has learned her animal sounds in the few weeks she's had the books. She points to the picture to hear the name of what's in the photo, and we said the sound of it if it was of an animal. Now that's she's learned so many she goes from page to page looking for all the pictures of cows, for example, and then says "Moo" with great delight and pride. She loves them so much we may end up having to replace them. They are wonderful. Her vocabulary has exploded since she got them.There are smaller similar books but they don't have the flaps. The flaps add so much fun (and more pictures)!
