A quicky rom com is sometimes just what I need. When Rebecca’s new neighbor moves in and proves himself to be an arrogant jerk, she doesn’t even mind. She’s busy with her career and a hot fling with the CEO visiting from America. After her long-term relationship ended abruptly, the last thing Rebecca is looking for is love – or trusting someone with her heart again. Jack is a struggling actor hoping for his big break – to prove to himself and his family that he isn’t a failure. He doesn’t care that his neighbor is good-looking and he might possibly feel attracted to her, because he’s only there for a short time before he gets his ticket to Hollywood. But when the two finally start to let their walls down around each other, it’s clear the enemies could easily turn lovers.I really enjoyed reading about Rebecca. She was a strong woman when she needed to be – working hard to get ahead at her career (crying only in private when she needed to) and staying strong on the ‘I don’t need a man to complete me’ front. Jack was also a sweet character, and I felt for him when it came to the turmoil amongst his family. His dad seemed like a real piece of work. Some of the supporting cast – like their friendly neighbors – were a great addition to the storyline, and while it was obvious Rebecca and Jack should be together, sometimes it really did seem like it might be too complicated for the pair. This was a charming read and a great for an escapism moment.I received a review copy
