If there had been inside pages for preview or any description given at all, I would not have bought this book. This is NOT a "How to Draw Book." I was expecting visual step by step pencil drawing instructions that a young child could follow nearly independently. (says age 4 and up). The very first instructions read, "Mix some yellow paint and a little water on a paper plate. Then, paint a rectangle on a piece of white paper, for the truck's trailer." SO - not only is this not your standard how-to-DRAW book, but there are a lot of written instructions, so it's not really a book you can give your four-year-old to work on independently. Besides pencil drawings, the book contains projects that involve chalk, crayons, paint, paper towels, and scissors for cutting aluminum foil and colored paper. There are also two pages of stickers - mostly wheels, hubcaps, and useless gray circles with a circumference smaller than that of a pencil eraser. If you are looking for a basic step by step drawing book, this is NOT it. If you are looking for an activity idea book that says things like "Draw the farmer's hat and jacket a little way away from the tractor" (but doesn't tell you HOW to draw the farmer's hat and jacket, or even really the tractor, for that matter) and you're interested in useless stickers, THIS is the book for you!
