The prologue immediately raised questions and made me think of things like "what happened?", "what did Laurie do?", "this is very intriguing" and stuff. Cruel Heart Broken has a shifting sequence of storytelling: the past and the present. So, it will make you wonder about things. Cool stuff!This book addressed several issues that are commonly faced by the current generation. Laurie did an act that she believed made her a murderer. At a very young age of 15, she had to face circumstances on her own, that weren't normally faced by normal teenage girls.Emma Haughton's writing style was gripping. It surely did grip my deepest interest. I read this in one sitting, I just can't stop. A fast read that you might think of lightly at first, but actually very delicate in substance given the focus of the story.While drawing conclusions, I held several debate sessions in my mind based on the decisions of the characters. Very conflicting, because the issues were sensitive. I know that many will be able to relate to this novel.The ending was slightly unexpected. Well, it was a good finish nevertheless, and I totally recommend this, especially to youth in their coming of age. Once you start this book, you won't be able to put it down.
